小さな秋旅：黒部渓谷鉄道 (A Little Autumn Trip: Kurobe Valley Railway)

10月25日、僕らは9:42発猫又行きの黒部渓谷鉄道、通称トロッコ電車に乗りました。今回の旅行のハイライトです。

On Oct. 25, we took a trolley train of Kurobe Keikoku Tetudo (Kurobe Valley Railway) to Nekomata. This was the highlight of this autumn trip.

今はここが終点で、ここで折り返します。

Nekomata is the present desination and we returned back from there.

富山地方鉄道宇奈月温泉駅の前には温泉の噴水があります。

There was a fountain of the hot spring in front of Unazuki Onsen station of Toyama Chihou Tetsudo (Toyama Local Railway).

帰りの電車まで時間があったので、電気博物館（左）に寄り、もう一度町を散策しました。

帰りの電車は特急で、途中止まらなかったので、早かったです。

Before taking the return train, we visited the electric museum (left) and took another short walk of the town.

Our return train was a super express train and we arrived much more quickly at the destination than the day before.

北陸新幹線「はくたか」の車窓から。この日は晴れていて、日本海も見えました。

Thanks to the good weather, we could observe the Japan Sea from the window of Hakutaka.

糸魚川では最寄りのスーパーで握り寿司と太刀魚、サンマを買いました。

ここでも少し時間に余裕があったので、駅構内に展示されているトワイライトエクスプレスを見学しました。

We could purchase fresh fishes and Sushi with fresh fish in a nearby supermarket in Itoigawa, as we had planned to.

Later we enjoyed the exhibition of Twilight Express in Itoigawa station, too.

地元の白身魚の握り寿司。時間があると思って食べ出したら、電車が入ってきて慌てました。

昼が遅かったので、家に戻ると穂高温泉しゃくなげの湯♨️に行き、戻ってからサンマを焼いて、軽い夕食で済ませました。軽かったけど、サンマは美味しかった！

As we took our shushi lunch in the middle of afternoon, we first went to our hot spring, Shakunagenoyu, on our coming home. Then, we had a small dinner with a grilled mackerel pike, which was delicious!

翌日、横浜の友人の帰宅は午後だったので、国営アルプス安曇野公園で蕎麦打ち体験を申し込んでいました。

On the next day, our friend was expected to take 4:00 o'clock Azusa express train to go bak to Yokohama, we had reserved a plan of buckwheat noodle making experience in Alps Azumino Government Park.

秋晴れの穏やかな日、幼稚園児や小学生などの団体さんが来ていて、賑やかでした。

It was such a nice autumn day that there were many kindergarden and elementary school children.

蕎麦打ちは楽しいし、美味しい。

I like this plan. It is pleasant and the noodles as its result are delicious!

結局、雨にはハラハラさせられたけれど、雨は宇奈月温泉に到着した夜だけで、僕らは旅行を楽しめたし、横浜の友人に満足して戻ってもらえたので、兄達は「無駄飯食いの居候にならなくてすんだ」と、胸を撫で下ろしながら、友人のお土産や、僕が宇奈月で買ったお土産を喜んでいました。

Though Reiko had been very anxious about rain, we only had some rain when we arrived at Unazuki Onsen. We after all enjoyed our trip very much and our friend from Yokohama went back with satisfaction. My older brothers, therefore, were happy enough to believe that we are worhwhile staying with Reiko and appreciated our friend's souvenirs as well as my souvenirs from Unazuki Onsen.
