安曇野生活：初夏 (Azumino Life in Early Summer)

桜が終わるとすぐに新緑、初夏の季節に入ります。北アルプスにはまだ雪が残っていて、この時期は雪を被った北アルプスの青と白に、里の緑のコントラストが映える、美しい時期です。

Around the end of cherry blossoms, fresh green season starts in Azumino. It is one of the best seasons in Azumino, with a good view of the Northern Alps with white snow on their tops as well as the fres green colors at their bottoms.

5月5日、信州の端午の節句は旧暦がお祝いしますが、良く晴れた一日、鯉のぼりも気持ち良く泳ぎ、僕らは今年作ってもらった兜を被って正装、記念撮影を行いました。

On May 5, though we usually celebrate Boys' Festival according to the old calendar, June 5, but it was such a fine day that carp steamers energetically swam in the refreshing wind. As we were gifted elegant helmets for this occasion this year, we all dressed up in the traditional costumes for this day.

5月11日は国営アルプス安曇野公園で早春賦音楽祭が開催されました。アルプホルンの合奏が聴きたくて、開園前に駆けつけたのですが、すごい車の量でびっくり。ゆっくり出かけていたら入園できなかった。

On May 11, Early Spring Music Festival was held in Alps Azumino Government Park. We wanted to see Alpshorns and went there before the opening hour of the park to find so many cars already parked in the usually vacant parking lot. Later we found a long line of cars waiting for the open space of the parking lot.

早春賦音楽祭というけれど、真夏のような暑さでした。

In spite of the name, Early Spring Music Festival, it was a summery warm day.

5月11日には、甲斐性無しの僕らに代わり、ピンクポー君から母の日プレゼントとして、大きなメロンが届きました。まだ少し早そうだったので、しばらくはメロンを眺めながら楽しみ、完熟したところで、れいこさんと一緒に、兄弟みんなも頂きました。すごく甘かった！　ピンクポー君、ありがとう！！！

5月12日、今回は信州を舞台にしているというので、コナン君の映画を映画館で鑑賞。イオンシネマは初めての利用だったので、ちょっと戸惑うこともあったけれど、たまには映画館で観るのも良いなと、れいこさん。

May 11 was Mother's Day. Pink Po had kindly a large melon sent to Reiko. When it arrived, it looked a little too early to eat. We enjoyed looking at it for a while and ate it together with Reiko when it was well ripen. It was very sweet and delicious. Thank you, Pink Po!!!

On May 12, we used a Monday discount to see Detective Connan's movie, for it deals with a case in Nagano Prefecture. We had not used this movie theater before and was perplexed in various ways. Yet it was, after all, much more entertaining than we had expected.

れいこさんは今年、免許証の書き換えで、高齢者講習を受けなければならなかった。運転については、加速しすぎ！　とか、一時停止が甘い！　とか、注意されて、がっくりきていたけれど、5月19日、安曇野警察署で無事に更新手続きが完了。帰りに近くの豊科近代美術館のバラ園に寄りました。まだ咲きだしたところでしたが、早咲きのものが結構咲いていて楽しめました。

Reiko have to renew her driver's license and had to take a training for elderly people beforehand. She got depressed by scolded that she drove too fast and that she stopped the car too short to check the safety. Therefore, on May 19, when she finished renewing her license, she was so happy that she stopped by the rose garden neaby though I thought it was too early. Actually, there were some roses already blooming and we could enjoy the stroll in the garden.

5月20日、今日は気温が32度予想。快晴とのことだったので、平湯まで新緑の中をドライブしました。風が強くて窓を開けていられなかったは残念でしたが、常緑樹と針葉樹の緑の違いが織りなす模様が美しく、良いドライブになりました。途中奈川渡ダムに立ち寄ってひと休憩。風で吹き飛ばされそうになるので、ちょっと怖かったです。

On May 20, it was expected to become very hot. The weather was very good, too. So we decided to drive through the fresh green colors to Hirayu, Gifu Prefecture. The wind was so strong that we could not keep the car windows open but the fresh green colors were as beautiful as we had expected. On the way to Hirayu, we stopped by Nagawato Dam. The wind was so hard that we were scared a lot when taking the middle photo.

平湯ではひらゆの森の温泉に入りました。ここは廊下も畳敷きで、内風呂も天井が高く、檜の広い作りになっていて、サウナもあるし、外湯は８つもあって、少々人が多くなっても混雑を感じさせません。お湯は透明な硫黄泉で、白骨よりは匂いもきつくありませんがすべすべです。穂高温泉のお湯とはまったく違うので、いつもとは違う温泉気分が味わえました。

In Hirayu, we took a hot spring bath in Hirayunomori, whose corridors were all covered by Japanese tatami mats. The bath was made of Hinoki woods and was very spacious. There is a sauna as well as 8 or 9 open air bathes. The quality of hot spring is a very good and transparant sulfur one, which is so different from the ones in Hotaka that we enjoyed a taste of vacation there.

お兄ちゃんたちにもちょっと旅気分を味わってもらえるようにと、お土産に飛騨の牛すじやわらか煮を買って帰りました。

We wanted the share the taste of vacation with my older brothers and purchased a souvenir for them. Later eating this together with them, I will talk to them about this drive.
