小さな旅：諏訪湖荘（A Short Trip to Suwa)

7月25日、KKRの夏の平日割引きが効く最終日で、諏訪湖のサマー花火が始まる日、僕らはお友達と一緒にKKR諏訪湖荘にお泊まりに出かけました。

July 25 was the last day for the summer weekday discount of KKR as well as the first day of the summer fireworks in Suwa Lake. We took this good chance and stayed at KKR hotel, Suwakosou, on that night.

電車が上諏訪に近づくと積乱雲が見られたので、花火が雨で駄目にならないと良いなあと願いました。

Coming up to Kamisuwa, we saw these cumuloninbus clouds and hoped that they would not bring rain to prevent the fireworks.

上諏訪に着くと、あまりの暑さにびっくり。日陰を選びながら、５つある酒蔵のうち、本金さんと真澄さんを訪ねました。友人が試飲してくれ、僕らは横からちょびっと舐めさせてもらうことができたので、お酒の味がわかって面白かったです。

真澄で試飲室に入った途端にすごい雷雨になり、ちょっと怖いほどでしたが、試飲し終えた頃には雨は止んでいました。またこの雨で少し涼しくなりました。

When we arrived at Kamisuwa, it was surprisingly muggy. Trying to stay in shades, we visited two sake breweries out of the five, Honkin Brewery and Masumi Brewery. Our friend tasted some bottoles of sake in the both breweries and she let us lick each of them so that we could tell their tastes, too.

The thunder storm started just after we entered the tasting room in Masumi brewery. It was so hard that I was scared a little but it lasted only while we stayed there.

本金酒蔵に戻って、今度八月に大阪にお土産として持って行くお酒を仕入れてから、KKR諏訪湖荘に向かいました。

On the way to KKR hotel Suwakosou, we stopped by at Honkin Brewery again to purchase two bottles of sake, which we intend to bring to Osaka as our souvenirs.

お部屋は以前のような大きな部屋が取れなかったので、心配していましたが、僕らには十分な広さでした。室内も綺麗でした。

All the big rooms had been taken when we tried to reserve a room. I had been afraid that the room might be too small for us but it was comfortable enough.

今回の夕食は、「文月しなの会席」。田楽鮎は、鮎独特の苦みもなく、柔らかな身が甘くて美味しかったです。吹き寄せもしっとりとした味で、全般に優しい味付けでした。

The dinner was "July Shinano Course." All the dishes were light and delicious. We especially loved the sweetfish baked with Miso and the boiled vegetables.

お腹がいっぱいだと言いつつも、ご飯が美味しくて、完食してしまいました。

The rice was delicious, too. Though we had had enough, we ate all rice up.

デザートも口当たりがさっぱりしていて、夏向きになっていました。

The desserts were very summary, too.

夕食は早めに取ったのですが、夕陽が沈むのには間に合わなかった。でも、諏訪湖に映るきれいな夕焼けを眺めることはできました。

We started our dinner at 5:30 so that we could see the sunset. Unfortunately, the sunset was earlier than we had expected. Still we could see the beautifully burning sky and its reflection on the lake.

夕焼けは7時。花火が上がるのは8時半からなので、一度宿に戻り、温泉でさっと汗を流してから出直しました。

As we had one hour and half before the fireworks, we went back to the hotel to take a bath in the hot spring.

サマー花火は、7月25日から一ヶ月間、毎日、8:30PMから10分間上げられます。

たった10分の花火だからと思っていましたが、目の前で上げられる花火は迫力があって、次々と絶え間なく上がるので、10分よりも長く感じました。それに人出が多かったものの、お盆の花火大会のような混みようではなく、ゆったりと鑑賞できました。

They have the summer fireworks for one month from July 25 and it starts at 8:30PM every night.

We had not expected a lot for it becaused fire works last only for ten minitues. Yet we could see the fireworks just in front of us, very close, and they kept going off without any intervals. They were so powerful and so dramatic that they seemed to last much longer than 10 minutes. What is better, the place was far less crowded than in the Bon Festival Firework Display, though there were more people than we had exepcted. We enjoyed these fireworks to the full.

翌朝は6時前に起き出して、ゆっくり朝風呂に入りました。

朝食を一番遅い、8:15AMにしてもらっていたので、少し湖畔を散策しました。

On the next morning, we got up before 6 and took a luxurious morning bath.

As we had arranged our breakfast at the lastest schedule, at 8:15, we could take a morning walk along the lake before the breakfast.

鴨の子がたくさんいました。子育て真っ最中という感じです。

We saw many baby ducks. Mothers seem to be busy in rearing children.

宿の朝食。朝はバイキングですが、焼き魚や生卵はセッティングされていました。

Breakfast was a buffet style but a baked fish and a fresh eggo had been served.

ゆっくり朝食を取っていたので9時過ぎになり、部屋に戻って荷物を片付け、10時前にチェックアウト。

そのあと、角上魚類やタケヤ味噌で買い物をして戻りました。お友達が松本駅まで車で送ってくれたし、タイミングよく大糸線に乗り継げたので、予定よりも早く、午後1時頃には戻って来れました。

兄達には真澄酒造で買った甘酒をプレゼントしました。麹の味がまろやかな甘酒です。

また、夜、みんなでメバルのお造りを頂きました。

We finished our breakfast past 9AM. After going back to our room, we repacked our bags and checked out a little before 10AM. Later we did some shopping at Kakujougyorui and Takeyamiso before coming home. Our friend kindly drove us to Matsumoto station and we could take a train without waiting long. We arrived home around 1 PM, much earlier than we had expected, to our brothers' joy.

I purchased a bag of sweet sake at Masumi Brewery. I loved its taste with a good malt and so did my older brothers. We also shared a Rockfish sashimi at supper.
