小さな旅：諏訪湖荘 (A Short Trip to Suwa )

12月13日、久し振りにお友達とのお泊まり会で諏訪に出かけました。

今回は皆、それぞれの都合に合わせて電車で出発。僕らは少し早めに上諏訪に到着しました。

On Dec. 13, we visited Suwa to stay there overnight with our friends in Matsumoto.

This time we took a train to go there separately according to each schedule. We did not have anything special to do and arrived at Kami-Suwa station a little earlier than the check-in time.

時間があったので、初めて、上諏訪駅の足湯に入りました。電車が通るのを眺めながら、ゆっくり足湯は贅沢です。

As we had enough time to use, we tried to the foot bath inside of the station for the first time.

駅から10分ほど歩いて、八劔神社に行きました。

ここは御渡神事が行われる神社です。

Afterwards, we walked to Yatsurugi (Eight Swards) Shrine, which performs the ritual of Miwatari(God's Crossing over Lake Suwa).

初めて、高島城に行きました。本丸のあったところは現在、高島公園になっています。

お堀の水が凍っていて、寒かったです！

Then we visited Takashima Castle. This was our first visit there though we had visited Suwa many times.

This place is now called Takashima Park.

It was such a chilly day that the water of the castle moat was mostly frozen.

寒い時期のおかげで人は少なくて、僕は大きな顔で入城できました。

Thanks to the cold weather, however, there was hardly any people. I could walk into the castle park without being bothered by anybody.

庭園の池もところどころ凍っていました。

花の季節には綺麗だろうなあと思いました。

We found here and there in the garden lake frozen, too.

This place must be gorgeous in its flower seasons.

高島城の天守閣に登ると、富士山が見えました。

時間があったので、諏訪氏の歴史をしっかり学びました。この地の歴史が松本などよりも古いことがよく分かりました。

We climbed up to the top floor of the castle, from where we could see Mt. Fuji to our joy.

We spent a lot of time to learn the history of the castle and we realized that thie area had been thriving for a long time as an important post station.

高島公園からこの日のお宿の諏訪湖荘に向けて歩いていると、いろいろな水鳥に会えました。そばに行ってもちっとも逃げません。大切にされているのだなあと。

We saw large birds along the way to Suwa Lake. They did not care if we walked by. They must be accustomed to human circumstances.

諏訪湖荘は諏訪湖のすぐそばで、チェックインまでまだ少し間があったので、湖まで出てみました。

Our hotel was so close to the lake that we walked all the way to the lake before checking in.

水辺に鵜がたくさん。遠くに白鳥号。

There were many cormorants on this side of the shore while a swan ship was passing by over there.

KKR諏訪湖荘。

お部屋は一番広い鳳。通常は四人以上で使用ですが、平日使用ということで許して頂きました。

♨️のお湯はとても滑らか。

Our room, Ohtori, was the largest one in this hotel.

The hot spring was excellent.

夕食は鰻会席。前菜（鰻ザク、鰻骨煎餅、う巻き蕎麦）、お造り（信州サーモン、鰤）、鰻白焼き（香ばしかった）、鰻すき焼き（鰻がとても柔らかかった）、炊き合わせ（鯉の揚げに、海老芋、湯葉、粟麩、青味）、ひつまぶし（お出汁をかけるまえに、少し鰻ご飯で頂きました）と肝吸い、季節のデザート、でした。

前々から食べたいと思っていましたが、期待を裏切らない味でした。

The dinner was the eel course, which we had wanted to try for a long time and was as excellent as we had expected.

朝食はバイキングで、お野菜が一杯食べられた。ご飯も、卵掛けご飯と、出汁茶漬けを食べて、八ヶ岳の生牛乳とそば茶で仕上げ。朝からお腹一杯になった。

We had a big breakfast, too. Milk was a fres one from Yatsugatake. Tea was buckwheat tea.

食事を始めた時は吹雪いていたけれど、食事をしているうちに雪は止み、青空が見えてきました。

僕らは陽が差すなか、新鮮なお魚を売っていることで有名な角上魚類までとことこと歩いて、穂高では手に入らないお魚を買い求めました。お寿司は家に戻ってから、ちょっと遅めの昼食で、お留守番の兄達と一緒に頂きました。

Just before our breakfast, it started snowing very hard. Yet it stopped while we were having breakfast. So we walked all the way to the fresh fish market, Kakujougyorui, where we got fresh fishes we cannot get in Hotaka. We also purchased Sushi for our brothers and had it with them after coming home.
