宮古島への避寒旅：三日目と四日目(Wintering in Miyako Island: The Third Day and the Fourth Day)

3月8日、宮古島三日目は綺麗な晴れになりました。朝日を浴びながら朝食。

On April 8, the third day in Miayako Island, it turned out to be a very fine day.

今日は宮古島一周ドライブに出かけることにしました。

ホテルから反時計まわりで、まずは東平安名崎公園に向かいます。灯台は前回登っているので、今回は岬をゆっくり散策しました。風が強いので、僕らはバッグの外になかなか出られませんでした。

Being blessed with a good weather, we decided to drive around the island.

We drove from the hotel counter-clockwise to Cape Higashi-Hennazaki. This time we did not climb up the lighthouse but just walked around on the cape. The wind was so strong that we could hardly come out of the bag!

百合やピンクのベニハナハマボッスは春を告げる花だそうで、ローカルニュースで開花が話題になっていました。

White lilies and Pink Ocean Primroses are spring flowers. In the local news in Miyako Island, they reported that these flowers just started blooming.

宮古島の北側の海岸線を45分ほど走って、ホテルからは一番遠い池間大橋を渡りました。

We drove along the north seashore for 45 minutes to go to Ikema Island through Ikema Great Bridge.

南に戻ってきて、一番長い伊良部大橋を渡りました。途中が高くなっていて、降りる時はスリルがあります。風のない日だったから海が綺麗で楽しめました。風があると、怖い！

We drove down to the south and crossed Irabe Great Bridge to Irabe Island. This is the longest of the three bridges in Miyako Island and you can drive there like a jet roller. On a windy day, it will be too thrilling for Reiko to drive there!

Kuruma Great Bridge is the closest to our hotel. We crossed it, too.

前回来たときも、ここで海に入ったなあと。

この日は、前回のツアーで回ったところを再訪する形になりました。前回はバスで連れていってもらったので距離感がありませんでしたが、今回自分で回って、あちこち寄り道して、そんなに急がなかったのに、朝9時くらいに出て、午後3時頃には戻ってきてましたので、さほど大きな島ではないなあと実感しました。

この日の夜は、地元のポークウィンナーと、前夜のまぐろの残りを焼いたもの。まぐろは本当に臭みがなくて、お刺身も良かったけど、焼いても美味しかった。

Reiko went into the sea in Maehama Beach last time we were here.

On this day, we visited all the places we had visited during our first tour to Miyako Island. Still, this time we drove for ourselves, the impressions were very different.

We started around 9 a.m. and came back around 3 p.m. We made many stops on the way. We thought that Miyako Island is a cozy size to stay in for a while.

For the dinner, we baked island pork wiener sausages and tuna a piece of which we had eaten fresh the day before. This tuna tasted really good even when it was baked.

3月9日、宮古島四日目。

今日はツアーでは行けなかったクルーズに参加します。船は平良港から出ます。僕らのお目当ては珊瑚礁でのお魚観察。

On March 9, the 4th day in Miyako Island.

We tried a cruising from Hira Port, which we had not taken during the first visit. Our prime purpose was fish watching at a coral reef.

お魚は思ったよりたくさんいて、僕らは大興奮。

It was more exciting to see fish at a coral than we had expected. We loved it!

返りは伊良部大橋の下を潜りました。

On the way back we passed under the Irabe Great Bridge.

ランチクルーズだったけれど、僕らは景色を見ていたかったから、船の上ではお昼を食べなかった。

クルーズが終わって戻る途中、イオンで海鮮丼を買って、少し遅いお昼をホテルで食べました。

その後、お土産物屋さんなどに出かけて過ごし、夜は昨夜のポークウィンナーの残りを使ってチャーハンにしました。

You may eat lunch during the cruising but we wanted to concentrate on the cruising.

After the cruising, we stopped by Aeon to get a seafood bowl for lunch.

After late lunch, we visited a neaby souvenir shop to buy souvenirs for our friends.

For supper, we prepared a fried rice with island pork wiener sausages.
