ネパールの旅 6：ポカラ2-2 (Travel to Nepal: Pokhara 2-2)

3月15日、ポカラ観光として、長い登り坂と階段を上がり日本山妙法寺を訪れました。

On March 15, in Pokhara, we climbed up a long slope and many steps to visitNipponzan Myouhouji Temple.

そのあとさらに長い坂道を歩いて、昼食レストランに。

Later we took another long slope to go to our lunch restaurant.

ペワ湖や日本山妙法寺が見下ろせる高台です。

It stood on a high place to look down Lake Phewa and Nipponzan Myouhouji Temple.

昼食は伝統的なネパール食で、ガイドさんは手で食べる本来の流儀を見せてくださいましたが、僕らはスプーンやフォークを使って食べられました。ただし、カレー類はちょっぴり味を確かめただけにしておきました。お腹が空くので、ご飯は塩を振って全部食べました。石榴入りヨーグルトも食べました。

Our lunch was a tratidional Nepali dish and our guide presented how they eat it with their fingers. Yet we were allowed to use a spoon and a fork. We tried curries only a little bit. We ate rice (with salt). We also enjoyed yogurt with pomegranate seeds.

バスに戻る道では、いろいろな鳥や花を楽しみました。

On the way back, we saw birds and flowers. Some of them were familiar and yet different from those in Japan.

昼食後は国際山岳博物館で登山の歴史などを学びました。

After lunch we visited International Mountain Museum and learned about the history of mountaineering.

れいこさんは展示物より、水牛の像に跨がる方が楽しかったようです。

Reiko seemed to be more interested in this water Buffalo.

このあと、ノーダラの丘に向けて車は狭い山道をひたすら走りました。

Afterwards, we drove a narrow and steep moutain road toward Nordara Hill.

段々畑が綺麗です。

Terraced fields were charming.

ノーダラの丘。宿泊施設はあるようでしたが、誰もいませんでした。

Nordara Hill. There was a hotel building but we did not see any guests.

雲が出ていて、あまり綺麗な夕陽は見られませんでしたが、雲の形はおもしろかったです。

バスが入っていったのが驚きのようなすごい狭い、険しい道路だったから、僕ら以外、観光客はいなくても驚きではなかった。

With clouds, we could not see a dramatic sunset. Still the cloulds were beautiful.

The road to the top was so narrow and steep (we were surprised to see our bus going into this road) that it was no wonder that we did not see any other people.
