晩夏の安曇野(Late Summer in Azumino)

お盆休みのあいだは人出が多いので家に逼塞していましたが、お盆が明け、朝夕も少し涼しくなってきたので、8月18日、国営アルプス安曇野公園のひまわり畑を訪れました。

During the Bon Festival, Azumino is always too crowded for us to go out. Therefore we stayed home as much as possible during the festival. Then after it, we visited the sunflower garden in Alps Azumino Government Park to take advantage of the cool morning weather.

ヒマワリにもいろいろな種類があって、おもしろい。ヒマワリ以外にも、ちょっと目を惹く花がありました。

There were several kinds of sunflowers. We found some other flowers in the park.

開園と同時に入ったので、最初は人がほとんどいませんでしたが、一時間ほど散策するうちに、次から次へと人が入ってきて、帰る頃には入り口の券売機の前に行列ができていました。

まだまだ夏休みだなあと、思いました。

As we entered the park at its opening hour, there were few people in the garden at first. Still more and more people came in. When we left the park after one hour stroll, we found a queue in front of the ticket vending machine. It was still in the summer vacation time, no doubt.

数年前に植えたプルーンが実りました。初めての収穫なので頃合いを見計らっていますが、20日、色づきの良さそうなものを収穫してドイツ風のフラムクーヘンを焼きました。たくさんプルーンを使うので、プルーンの木を植えるところから取りかかっての、五カ年計画でしたが、かつてドイツで教わった美味しいクーヘンが

焼けました。

The plum tree is bearing fruit this year. This is the first time to harvest plums, we were wondering when to harvest. On August 20, we tried to harvest some purple plums for the first time and baked a German style plum cake.

This plum cake requires so many plums that we started planting a plum tree in order to make it. Actually it was a five year project and I think that we succeeded! The cake tasted very good!!!

8月22日、塩尻の小坂田公園納涼花火大会を、サンサンワイナリーでワインを飲みながら鑑賞するイベントにお伴立ちと一緒に参加してきました。

ゲリラ雷雨が予想されていて、出かける頃にはひっきりなしにゲリラ雷雨接近のアラートが届いていましたが、ポー兄たちと一緒に、お尻を振り振り、雷雲あっち行け音頭を踊った甲斐あって、僕らの上には雷雲が発生することはありませんでした。

サンサンワイナリーは高台にあって風が涼しく、人数限定イベントで混雑することもなく、美味しいワインを頂きながら花火を堪能できました。

On August 22, we joined the event held in Sun Sun Winery to observe the fireworks in Osakada Park in Shiojiri, enjoying wine and food.

They strongly predicted sudden thunderstorms and we kept receiving the alerts of their approaching. Yet, we Po brothers had worked out together and had danced the chasing thunderstorms away dance, shaking our hips to push the storm clouds away. And look, we had a wonderful weather for the fireworks!

As the winery is located on a high place, the air was cool. The capacity of the event was limited so that it was not crowded. We enjoyed the fireworks in a quite luxurious atmosphere.

花火は19:00から始まりました。初めはまだ夕焼けが残る空でした。次第に暗くなると、高台では虫の声も大きくなり、花火の音と虫の声が競い合いました。

又、僕らがおいやった雷雲が関東地方で雨を降らしたようで、花火の横、東の方角では無音の稲妻がしきりと走る、ライトショーも見られました。

The fireworks started at 19:00, when the sky was still tinted in the sunset colors. Later when it became dark and when the fireworks shined more clearly, we heard crickets’ large chirping together with the bursting sounds of fireworks.

We also saw incessant lightnings in the east, which we are afraid were those of the thunderstorms we chased away.
